NDT builds for the future as it recruits apprentices

Engineering firm NDT Midlands is investing in the future after taking on four young people as part of its new apprenticeship programme.

The four are working across different areas of the business, one of the UK's leading non-destructive testing companies, during an important year that will see the company aiming to expand its customer base while continuing to provide the very best service for its customers.

The company is working with GTG Training in Wolverhampton, which is delivering the work-based apprenticeships.

Andrew Dudwell, aged 28, is working towards his apprenticeship in business management, Matt Dubczyk, 16, is working in warehouse and storage, Kirsty Price, 20, is studying business administration and Thomas Rayson, aged 17, is working on an apprenticeship in customer services.

Kirsty said: "The apprenticeship is really enjoyable and helps me to progress with my career. It will allow me to qualify in SAGE which is the system we use and to pass my NVQ Level 2.”

Based at Planetary Road Industrial Estate, in Wolverhampton, NDT Midlands offers all types of ultrasonic, dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection to customer-specific procedures and to globally recognised standards. Work is carried out for a wide range of industrial clients, with services delivered either at the customer's own premises or at NDT's extensive extensive testing facility.

Owned and managed independently by Stewart Dudwell and Amrik Laroya, NDT Midlands has spent the last year with the emphasis on improving levels of training, implementing new processing systems and improving testing procedures.

The continued demand for faster order processing and the increased levels of technical specification have inspired NDT Midlands to become a testing centre of excellence – offering a truly fast service without compromising the quality of the testing and certification.

One of the first lessons for the new team of apprentices has been that customer satisfaction and meeting customer expectation is of primary importance – NDT Midlands fully understands the importance of on-time delivery performance. In turn the company is flexible enough to meet the needs of even the most demanding of customers – especially those involved with supplying high performance components needed for direct line feed and delivery-critical applications.

All staff at NDT Midlands have a clear understanding of the needs and requirements of their customers. A professional service and empathy with the issues faced by a wide range of demanding customers, ensures that NDT Midlands will continue to provide the very best non destructive testing service available.
